Kohl's to open West Ashley store | Business

The former location of Walmart in a West Ashley shopping plaza could soon be a Kohl's Department Store. 

According to City of Charleston planning officials, the retail chain has had discussions with the city about opening a store in the old Walmart space in the Ashley Crossing Shopping Center, which is near Glenn McConnell Parkway and I-526.  Developers Diversified Realty says on its website there is a deal in the works.

Kohls' has stores in Mount Pleasant and Summerville.  The West Ashley location would open in late 2011.
